PASSION #1: JAMES JOYCE'S ULYSSES Found box, embroidered linen, antler buttons (11"w x 6.25"h x .75"d), 2006
I hand-embroidered the end of the last sentence from James Joyce's handwritten manuscript on Irish linen hankerchiefs with embroidered shamrocks which are in their original box.

PASSION #2: THE POPE'S HOLY WEEK Found box, Chinese calendar (3.5"w x 8"h x .2"d), 2006
The possibility of Pope Benedict XVI becoming the first pope to visit China was in the news. A "Pope" brand lightbulb box is the cover for a book with pages from a Chinese calendar. The thin tissue pages from April 9 to April 15, including Passion Sunday or Palm Sunday, mark Holy Week and include a traditional illustration of the crucified Christ - a departure from the whimsical cartoon characters that mark other special days in this calendar.
PASSION #3: VERDI'S OTELLO Found box, snap fasteners (4.25"w x 6.5"h x 1"d), 2006
Snap fasteners punctuate this section of Verdi's opera based on Shakespeare's over-heated tragedy in which Othello, driven to mad jealousy by Iago, murders Desdemona.
